YSJSU | We are recruiting!
This year we will be holding a Recruitment Day on Friday 28th April in the SU Coffee Lounge for our Student Staff and Graduate Positions for next year. If you will be a York St John student or graduate next year and would like to take part in our assessment day please send your CV and completed Interview Question form to YSJSU at C.Duff@yorksj.ac.uk stating if you would like to be considered for Student Staff role or Graduate role. We also welcome applications from students seeking the experience of the day to help them in their life after University and who are not specifically looking to work with us.
We will only process applications which submit all the documents. Closing date for your application is on Friday 21st April 2017 at 5pm.
Currently the Students' Union employs York St John students in a number of roles including bar staff, security staff, sports activator staff, and info point staff. The Students' Union also currently employs three Graduate Interns (a Graphic Designer, Societies Co-ordinator, and Info Point Assistant).
We are unable to confirm the specific Student and Graduate roles available for the 2017/18 academic year, as we are still in planning phases, but do know we are seeking to find outgoing York St John students who can be great positive ambassadors for the Students' Union and live the values of the Union. We are currently finalising our planning for the next year and once this has been completed the specific roles available will be announced, and this will be before the Recruitment Day on 30th March 2017.
Please note: You will be required to undertake training before summer time, and when you come back in September you will have a secure job for a year. You will have to be available over Arrivals Weekend / Week, and attend training session in early September 2017.
If you are successful on the day as a Graduate Intern applicant, you will be given an interview opportunity at the Students’ Union and University Graduate programmes, where you will be automatically short listed for any posts that are available. This should be confirmed early in April 2017, so you can secure yourself a job before going away for the summer time. How great is that?!
Order of the Day:
- 9:30am – registration
- 10:00am – Welcome and Introduction; this will include: Ice Breaker plus Fun team activity building exercise followed by business awareness presentation and activity.
- 12:30pm – Lunch – we will provide you with lunch on the day
- 1pm – 10 minutes informal chat about the answers to your Interview Questions.
