‘Suggest a Friend’ for this year’s elections!
Published: 3rd December 2019, 5:00pm
On Tuesday 3 December, the date of this year’s York St John Students’ Union elections was announced along with the news that ‘Suggest a Friend’ would be open immediately. The announcement was made at the end of Annual General Meeting, where students were invited to discuss the services provided by the Students’ Union.
Elections are due to run throughout February 2020, with nominations opening on 31 January and the results set to be announced on 28 February. However, over December and January, students will have the opportunity to ‘Suggest a Friend’ who they think would be the perfect fit for one of the roles.
Like previous elections, the roles announced for this year are: President of the Students’ Union, President of Education, President of Wellbeing and Diversity, Liberation Officers and Chairs of School.
This year will also see elections for several new roles, including roles that will give sports clubs and societies greater representation on the Executive Council. More information on these new roles will follow shortly.
