I’m not surprised that you’re probably wondering what on earth World Toilet Day is and why we are getting involved! Well look no further because here is all the information you need to know;
World Toilet Day is an event organised by the Charity ‘Toilet Twinning’. If you donate £60 to Toilet Twinning, you can twin your loo with an impoverished family’s household latrine, in a country of your choosing. You will then be given a certificate which is complete with a photo and GPS coordinates, so you can look up your twin’s location on Google Maps. Toilet Twinning funds the work of International relief and development agency Tearfund. The donation you make will be used to provide clean water, basic sanitation and hygiene education!
World Toilet Day is a way of raising awareness of the great work that Toilet Twinning do and collect donations to support their amazing charitable work. World Toilet Day is happening on Monday 19th November and SU Staff, University Staff and our RAG Committee will be in the SU Atrium to chat all about Toilet Twinning and help raise as much money as we can! Please head along to support us with this if possible, and if you need any more information in the meantime head to their website - https://www.toilettwinning.org/ - hope to see lots of you there!
