** DRUMROLL PLEASE **

It's time for me to announce who is the winner of our October Lecturer of the Month! After having over 50 nominations for this award, myself, George and Annie went through each individual nomination and created a shortlist. From this shortlist we then selected our winner for the month.

Lecturers were chosen not only on the amount of nominations they received but also on the quality. Within the shortlist are lecturers who students said were passionate, enthusiastic about teaching their chosen area of expertise, showed a genuine interest in the welfare of their students, were engaged with the representative system, and wanted to hear students feedback.

Our shortlisted academics were:

  • Ian Wilson - Primary Education
  • Pauline Couper - Geography
  • Catherine Birch - Music
  • Jules Richmond - Drama & Theatre
  • Alison Organ - French

And our winner for October is Alison Organ! Congratulations Alison and please come to the Students' Union to grab your prize!

Students nominated Alison because she 'goes above and beyond as a lecturer. She truly wants the best for each and every one of her students. Whether it is those that are here and those that are currently studying abroad; Alison's support extends far beyond the classroom and I think I speak for everyone who's ever been taught by her that she inspires me.'

Any staff members who were nominated will receive an email from me detailing quotes from the nomination(s) they received.
