Student Council is our most senior policy making body at the Students’ Union. The Council is made up of the Presidents, Liberation Officers and Chairs of School, in addition to a Chair and a Deputy. At each meeting, the Council discuss motions that you, as students at York St John University, have put forward.
The first Student Council meeting of the academic year takes place on Tuesday 12 November, with several items to be discussed. Among the items for discussion, there are 8 motions which the Council will vote on. If a motion gains enough supporting votes, it becomes the policy of the Students' Union.
In addition to this, the Council will be discussing 5 policies which are lapsing. The council will vote on whether these policies are continued or not.
Below, you can see the 8 motions that will be discussed.
