York | What’s on this Summer!
You’ll never be stuck for things to do in York over the summer – especially if the weather behaves itself and you can sunbathe! Ebacorum Roman Festival
Spend a weekend surrounded by all things Roman! A Roman Living History Camp, Archaeological Zone, talks, lectures, and tours will be in Museum Gardens, as well as parades of Roman Emperors, legions, and civilians throughout the city streets!

Join York’s LGBTQ+ community and celebrate throughout the city! With the parade, drag shows, an after party at Mansion nightclub, and so much more at venues all across York, there’s something for everyone – especially if you get your York Pride 2018 wristband, then you can access all kinds of special discounts on top of the main event! Doll’s House and Miniatures Fair
Spend a day feeling like a giant in this exhibition of miniscule masterpieces from over 90 exhibitors and artisans! For miniaturists around the country the show is not to be missed. Expect to find everything from handcrafted dolls to materials, from kits through to building supplies and everything you need for your dolls house, model or project all under one roof. This is an excellent chance to stock up on essential modelling items, find a bargain, an opportunity to treat yourself to some new accessories and to catch up with friends.

Gin Tasting Masterclass
Pairing two of life’s simple joys – gin and good food – this superb two-part experience is perfect for whiling away an indulgent afternoon together. Just a stone’s throw from the historic city centre, The Grange offers a luxurious base to enjoy your experience. You’ll kick things off with a masterclass and tasting courtesy of local gin experts, Still & Heart. You’ll take your two course lunch The Ivy Brasserie. A 2 Rosette eatery serving classic food with a French influence, you’ll be served a carefully compiled table d’hôte menu.

There’s No Place Like Home – YSJ Art and Design Degree Show
Our students are on the home straight and York St John has been their creative home for the last three years. It will always be a place that they will call home. Join us and celebrate their achievements with our creative industry and art world partners, alumni, students, staff, friends and family. It'll be a night of art, design, music and fun.

Little feet Festival of Children’s Theatre
Join us in celebrating the 5th Little Feet Festival of Children's Theatre where our theme this year is 'parties and celebrations'! Enjoy a range of exciting and inspiring theatre productions for children aged 0-12 based around our theme. As ever you can be assured of a great party menu for the week in our cafe and there will be lots of things to make, paint, colour and sparkle on our crafting table together with some great workshops to take part in. Don't miss the opportunity to come and celebrate, and whatever that may be you can be sure of a warm welcome.

Castle Howard Classic Car Show
The perfect day out for Father’s Day, or any classic car lover! Featuring at least 750 vintage, classic, modern classic and electric cars and motorcycles from a range of private owners and organised vehicle clubs. Vehicles will be displayed on the basis of age and category (Sports and Convertibles, Kit, Custom and Replica and American). The event also includes a full vehicle concours. With formal exhibitor stands from a number of major vehicle manufacturers and car dealerships as well as children's entertainment featuring a series of rides, bouncy castles and activities the show offers a spectacular day out for everyone.

Boogie Nights Musical
Do you remember where you were the night Elvis died? Well tonight's the night. Boogie Nights tells the hilarious and heart warming story of Roddy, a jack-the-lad, whose life of "birds, booze and boogie" is about to be turned upside down. This is a brilliant upbeat musical with classic 70s songs including I Will Survive, Blame it on the Boogie, You Sexy Thing and Don't Go Breaking My Heart. It is sure to have you singing and dancing in the aisles!

Alice in Wonderland Musical
Come with us down the rabbit hole to Wonderland and journey with Alice as she discovers lots of bright and colourful characters in this musical adaptation. Meet the Queen of Hearts, the Cheshire Cat (if he doesn't disappear first!), the outrageous Mad Hatter and many others. Fun for the whole family!

Lendal’s Lounge Live Music
Evenings of original acoustic/ electro- acoustic music performed by the original writers/singers from York and the across the region. Enjoy the atmosphere from 20.30 with this essential stop on a music lover’s bar crawl.

Castle Howard Flower festival: An English Country Garden
Feel like a fairy amongst the amazing flora in Castle Howard by a team led by Fiona Pickles. Inspired by nature, and bringing the wild outdoors inside the castle, this flower festival is lovingly grown locally and will appeal to any and all nature lovers! There will also be a series of talks, demonstrations, and workshops for ideas to take home to your own garden.

The York Proms
An evening of good music, good food, and good company in Museum Gardens will be a perfect way to enjoy a midsummer night – especially when it’s topped off with a firework display! Bring your own picnic, or enjoy food from a selection of lovely local vendors, and listen to local chart topping soprano, Rebecca Newman, international tenor Vasili Karpiak, an expanded version of Huddersfield’s Austonley Brass, and a 90-strong choir – York’s own Prima Choral Artists!
