Hopefully you have heard, but just in case you haven’t, tomorrow is International Women’s Day. The City of York is celebrating the occasion with a two week York International Women’s Festival, running from Friday 3rd to 12th March, and your University is getting involved & hosting a full day of events and activities Celebrating Women’s Voices.
The event is running from 10.30pm – 6pm, and today is the last day you can book on! There is a whole host to get involved in, including a free lunch, but two that we think will really stand out are:
- “Keeping Mum” Rachel Conlon, lecturer and Director of the Prison Partnership Project shows her Barnardo’s commissioned film and talks about the Project to give women a voice in prison
- Performance from Union Jill (folk music) in Quad South Lecture Theatre
