Unfortunately 1 in 7 students experience a serious physical or sexual assault whilst at university (NUS 2010 Hidden Marks). Due to our society, a lot of people aren’t aware of what sexual harassment is, an example that people often brush off their shoulders is when somebody grabs your bum, this is assault.
In particular this survey asks about your…
- experiences of sexual harassment
- experiences of sexual violence and assault
- experiences of intimate partner violence
- knowledge of how to support a friend
- awareness of services available to support students with these experiences
We will use the responses to this survey to inform the development of support services and training at the university. As part of this, we are currently working on a range of activities and projects related to healthy relationships and sexual violence in students. You can find out more about this work by visiting our website: https://www.yorksj.ac.uk/student-services/healthy-relationships/
