So.. Who are you?
A 3rd year Joint Honors Film & Media Student who is a member of LGBTQ+ Society, and Dance
Who would you want with you if you were stranded on a deserted island?
Brian Blessed because he could likely shout for help, his voice is amazing and he knows a lot about survival, for example punching a polar bear in the face.
What is your favourite book / author?
I don't have a specific book but im a huge fan of Edgar Allen Poe.
If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to and why?
I'd likely go back to the 1980's my parents were young then and their stories about them going through a tough times such as the miners strike etc. together have been an inspiration to me, as well as it being a key time in the fight for a lot of LGBTQ+ rights and I'd love to meet the people behind the movements back then.
What does your perfect day look like?
Surrounded by friends and family, in the sun, with a pint in hand!
Where do you most want to travel, but have never been?
I'd love to go to East Asia, so countries like South Korea, Japan and Hong Kong.
Who is your role model, and why?
My mum is a huge role model to me, shes a strong woman and has stayed strong despite having life throw a lot at her so it inspires me a lot.
What song or album instantly transports you to a happy place?
I've always loved the Pina Colada song (Escape),I guess just because its a funny song.
Your final meal ever… what would it be?
Probably vegetarian fajitas
Why did you decide to run for this role?
I want to help LGBTQ+ people around YSJ and make sure their voices are heard.
What do you hope to achieve?
An even more LGBTQ+ friendly environment on campus, more LGBTQ+ events and a more active and open speaking LGBTQ+ community on campus, which also means creating more opportunities for people to speak out about whatever issues they face on campus.
