CoS Report | Languages & Linguistics

  • To reinstate the Languages Society – this has been accomplished bar a few problems along the way.  Sign-up, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram pages and members being able to join.  There have been fortnightly languages events, whether it be a film night or speed dating, a number of people have turned up.
  • The achievement of electing a large number of Academic Reps for the School of languages and Linguistics
  • A meeting has taken place with general first semester comments and issues that should be taken to the Programme Panel
  • Key information and activities have been shared with my Academic Reps to keep them in the loop with SU actions and events
  • Whether it be Postgraduate week, or Sexual Health Campaign
  • The development of the Languages workshop and the improvements being made to Gateway House to allow access for extra study areas for students in the School of LAL.
  • In the coming weeks – to work alongside careers to improve the awareness of other postgraduate options
  • Steph and her postgraduate week
  • In the up and coming weeks there will be discussions with Rachel Wicaksono, myself and the business school about the acknowledgement of mental health
  • I was approached by Steph to interview on a panel for the new Marketing Manager for the university – This was carried out alongside a lecturer from the business school and Adam Hewitt the Director of Communications
